The general deficiency in the numbers of, Mozambique’s casinos is in one sense somewhat bewildering, in one way or another.

In past times, the territory was a spot where a lot of South Africans would visit to be away from the incredibly prohibitive principles on betting (and, it has to be said, mixing with other races) that they had at home. So, you would bank on something of a developing business to cater to that tourist business.

But, perhaps it isn’t all that much of an amazement. The region is one of the poorest world wide, having gone through a distressing civil war (followed by damaging floods) from which it is still, very slowly, bouncing back. This could make a location less of a tourist target, despite the fact that there is currently a favorable environment along a few of the region’s breathtaking beaches.

It is in addition true that regionally at least, casinos in Mozambique have had to encounter with casinos in the newly liberalized South Africa, which comprises of the exemplary Sun City founded by the Kerzner family establishment.

Here is a list of Casinos in Mozambique:

Maputo: Polana Casino Hotel

There are 78 slot machines and video poker games, 5 tables of American roulette, four blackjack tables, along with 1 poker table.

Namaacha: Sol Libombos Hotel Casino

There are 40 slot machines, American roulette, and two tables for poker as well as punto banco.

It is thought that over time the total tourism industry in Mozambique will flourish conclusively. While the local languages are, of course, African, there is additionally the portion of Portuguese from the old colonial power and the current and growing inception of English, both from South Africa and as part of the world phenomenon. The country is considerably cheap (obviously, as it is so poor) and as above, has some of the most breathtaking beaches in the world, fronting onto the Indian Ocean. Those are the types of things that make tourism executives drool, and as the country climbs out of its present slump, it is likely that not only will tourism grow, but that the list of casinos in Mozambique will grow longer as well.

While the country is unlikely to ever reclaim its reputation as a spot for partying South Africans, as there are now other selections closer to home for them to indulge in, the enhancement of a long distance tourism business is being arranged. This would be to cater to Europeans hopeful for winter sun, as a getaway from the dreariness of the Northern Hemisphere winter. In addition, evidently, the greatest prawns (shrimp) around the world are just offshore, in the Mozambique Channel.
